FAQ REGARDING FACE PAINTING

  • Rainbow Spark exclusively uses high-quality, professional-grade face paint that is compliant with regulations for cosmetic use. The glitters are cosmetic-grade and biodegradable. To ensure the quality and safety of the products, we buy from trusted sources and professional stores. Many of the brands we use are also vegan, so you can feel good knowing that your face-painting experience is not only beautiful but also ethical. Our gems are applied with cosmetic grade glue which is safe to be used on the skin.

  • The products that we use are non-toxic and have been thoroughly tested to ensure they are safe for use on the skin. However, as with any product, there is always a risk of an allergic reaction if someone is allergic to any of the ingredients used. For this reason, it's important for people with skin allergies or sensitive skin to take precautions when receiving face painting services. They can ask the artist for a patch test 30 minutes before receiving services to ensure that they do not have an adverse reaction to the products being used. This can help prevent any discomfort or irritation and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

  • We paint only clean skin and we use a clean sponge for every child. The brush water contains clean water with safe sanitiser and we use a disposable applicator for painting on the lips. The equipment is cleaned and disinfected between clients and kept tidy.
    We can’t paint on broken, irritated skin, or any skin condition like eczema, rash, or sunburn.

  • Most of the paint can be removed with a damp face washer, gently wiping away from the eyes. For any remaining paint, simply add a small amount of mild soap to your face washer and continue to gently wipe until it is completely gone. Be gentle and avoid rubbing the skin too hard, especially around sensitive areas like the eyes.

  • The artist will make sure that the area that will be painted is cleaned. Next, the face paint will be applied by hand using tools such as brushes, sponges, or stencils. Glitter and/or jewels can be added for an extra special touch. Throughout the process, we will work closely with the client to ensure that they are happy with the design and that it matches their requirements.

  • Your face painter will paint up to 12 intricate designs per hour, and up to 20 simpler designs for busy public events. Our quick face painting list consists of 15 beautiful designs.

  • $125 per hour with a minimum booking time of 2 hours -for all bookings within a 20 km radius of Narre Warren. Bookings outside this area are available however additional travel cost will apply. You can obtain a quote anytime by using the details from the 'Contact’ page.

  • Unfortunately, we are unable to provide face painting services to children under the age of 3 due to their underdeveloped immune systems.
    Additionally, we require that children who participate are willing and able to stay still during the process. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

  • Children may accidentally transfer the paint with their hands, which can cause stains. It's important to keep in mind that face paint can stain and sometimes can be permanent. Thank you for being aware of this potential issue and taking the necessary precautions to prevent any unwanted stains or damage.
    Some colours can stain the skin for a short amount of time, but vegetable oil or face cream can help remove the stain sooner.

  • Face paint is not designed for extended wear. We advise removing the face paint before going to bed to ensure a comfortable and stain-free sleep.

  • Yes, Rainbow Spark is a registrated business and can provide you with an invoice.

  • Yes, the artist has a current ‘Working With Children’ card. Please contact us if you wish to view the card.

  • We are located in S.E Melbourne and happily travel to all suburbs. Travel fees will apply depending on location of the event. Travel fees may include any tolls and parking fees, fuel and time on the road.

  • The artist dresses up as a fairy at request. Additional charges will apply. Please contact us for further information.

  • The artist will arrive 5/10 minutes before the start time to set up.
    If we are inadvertently delayed because of traffic or other legitimate reasons, we will adjust the event's duration accordingly.

  • The artist brings all the supplies needed to provide the services. Where possible a small table and 2 chairs will be required. Please consider a small space for the set up -1x1m, protected from the elements and that provides shade if outdoor.

  • Yes, we can! We have created fast line designs that are effective and good looking and great for busy events. Adriana is the artist who will provide services, however, thanks to her extensive network, she can arrange collaborations with other creative artists.

  • To secure your booking a non-refundable deposit of $50 is required.

    If a cancellation is made by the client the booking fee of $50 will not be reimbursed, as this amount will cover time lost for Rainbow Spark.
    Rescheduling is possible using the same deposit of $50 when Rainbow Spark receives 2 weeks notice of change in advance.

    The remaining balance is due a week prior to your event. Cancellations that are made 2 days prior to the event will require full payment and no money will be reimbursed. Cancellations that are made 4 days prior the event will receive 50% back from the balance.

    If Rainbow Spark cancels on the client, the full payment will be reimbursed.

  • To secure your booking a non-refundable fee of $50 is required. Once the retainer fee is accepted the time and date of your event will be reserved and confirmed.
    The remaining balance is due a week prior to your event.

  • We advise you to make your reservation as soon as you can to ensure that the date and time you want are available.

  • Adriana is a professional skilled entertainer who is punctual, kind and patient with the kids and can paint/ twist/ tattoo a variety of designs swiftly and effectively. She has the knowledge to use the proper materials safely and effectively.

  • We provide entertainment for several parties and events each day, and regrettably, we can rarely remain longer than the time you have reserved. You can ask your entertainer if she/he has any spare time that day.

    It is wiser to overestimate your RSVP numbers when booking your entertainment than to underestimate them. There is a very good chance that you will have some unhappy kids or that you won't get the full benefit of the party package you had planned for if you end up having more children than you had originally engaged us.

    It's a good idea to allow some more time to fix any balloons or face painting that was damaged.

  • Even with the finest planning, things might still alter the day of the party. If the number of kids turns out to be lower than you had anticipated, it will give us more time to engage with the kids that are present at your event.

    There is a good risk that you won't have the complete experience you had planned for if you end up having more kids than what your party package was built on. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee that we will be able to remain longer if you have additional children because we have other events scheduled for the same day.
